a very technology unfriendly week.
-I had to replace my watch (40000 won)
-my fitbit died after 2 months (time and effort in shipping it to the fitbit place here in korea)
-my mouse on the laptop died and...(10000 won)
-I washed my digital camera in the laundry...(camera was used, cost me 60000 won, who knows what the next one will cost if I have to replace it)
yep...i washed my digital camera in the laundry...did i mention i'm an adult...
OK..so we are going back to auto biographical since I have a less to be angry about...but we are keeping the title because American Beauty still remains #1 on my all time list...

Weekly Banality Update 7-6-2014
Work - they owe me something like $300 books from June...get on that...
my watch broke (may be the battery but it also won't wind properly), my fitbit flex won't charge (it's died less than 2 months after purchase 139,000 won)...bought a new watch from a clock store in the neighborhood at 9pm on a sunday after finding out my local Emart (think Target or Walmart type store) doesn't have watches...
went kayaking saturday, met a cute Korean girl...got sun-burnt the hell up...was suppose to go on another trip sunday but skipped it...only out $5 bucks...
I'm totally on board with Almond milk and Soy milk (chocolate)
present obsessions:
music: Akdong Musician
video game: NFS Rivals (PS3)
looking forward to my summer vacation last week of July and AIA Now festival Aug 15th...

Weekly Banality Update 1-23-2013
a couple of days late, oh well...
Saw some movies (all were DVD/Blu-rays, Netflix or Hulu):
After a frenzied couple of weeks reading Silver Linings Playbook and The Hunger Games trilogy, I've come to a crawl with The Hobbit. I just don't feel it like the others. The writing style is just draining.
I picked up Red Faction: Guerrilla for Xbox 360. Again Sci-fi 3rd person shooter, right up my alley...
My podcasts of note:
Saw some movies (all were DVD/Blu-rays, Netflix or Hulu):
- Dredd - great sci-fi action flick...wish I'd seen it in the theaters in 3d
- Resident Evil: Retribution - not going to win any Oscars but...ehhh, it is what it is
- Super Size Me - seen it before, watched it again...made me freak a bit about my health...
- Battle Royale - Japanese horror/thriller, think The Hunger Games in a modern setting...

Weekly Banality Update 1-13-2013
another all things mindless...
1st of all - going to yard sales = fun, having a yard sale = suck...
I finished the Hunger Games trilogy yesterday...I really enjoyed it. I teared up a little at the end of Mockingjay...don't look at me like that...it happened, let's move on...
to what...I don't know...nothing of importance happened this week... hhhmmmm...
let me get back to you...

had to get my frames replaced after I rolled over on my glasses in bed...got a little yard sale cash then immediately had to spend it #cantwinforlosing
and I spent an afternoon looking at my old tweets, here are a few:

- People need to realize I don't answer the phone at 230 AM - 3/15/2009
- People need to realize I don't answer the phone at 1130 AM - later 3/15/2009
- i will never use the word "chillaxin"...this I proclaim - 3/30/2009
- I left a bunch of farts at work. If you found any...keep them...i'll bring more tomorrow -5/1/2011
- I'd hate movie theaters less if they still thought 3pm was a matinee - 6/23/2011

Weekly Banality Update 1-6-2013
trying a new thing to keep me writing, nothing heavy just the trivial stuff...
I got a Nook tablet just before Christmas...I discovered I really missed reading. I read The Hunger Games and The Silver Linings Playbook within the first week of having the Nook . Both were great, quick reads, highly recommended. Presently reading The Hobbit and Catching Fire
back on the video game horse:
This holiday I went a little ape-shit with all the Black Friday, Blockbuster 50% off all used games $20 or less, Xbox live holiday and Steam sales
Xbox 360 (disc)
PC - Holiday sale on Steam:

Xbox 360 (disc)
- Forza Horizons - you got me hooked I must say...
- Xcom: Enemy Unkown - haven't even opened it yet
- Binary Domain - haven't even opened it yet
- Madden 12 - upgraded from '09 version
- NCAA Football 12 - upgraded from '09 version
- Rocksmith - now if I can get off my ass and play it more, it seems really fun...
- Need For Speed: Shift - it was $5, not bad, just an impulse buy
- Bully: Scholarship Edition - had it on PS2, but sold it on Ebay, now have it again...
- Mark of the Ninja - haven't tried it yet
- DLC for Trials HD, Trials Evolution, Fruit Ninja Kinect, Oblivion
- The Walking Dead: Episodes 2-5 - if 1st episode is any indication, this will be a hell of a ride not for the faint of heart
Playstation 3
- God of War Saga - for $15, 5 games, 1 month of PS+, a freaking great deal, the main thing I wanted from Black Friday
- Borderlands 2 - haven't even opened it yet
- Lollipop Chainsaw - started it...very.....yeah...it's very
- Rage - haven't even opened it yet, got it from Kmart, impulse buy at $10
- The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection - haven't tried it yet, but nostalgia from my PS2 days. especially more so that the end is sooner than later for the PS2
- Assassins Creed: Revelations - PS3 version comes w/ the first Assassins Creed, and for $10, another deal...
- Galactic Civilizations II - scifi strategy, yes please
- Dropitz - impulse buy, at $0.99, I'm ok with it
- FTL: Faster Than Light - a spaceship sim, again yes please
- Fate of the World: Tipping Point - world sim, I like this stuff, now I have to just make time and play all these PC games
- From Dust - I played the demo on XBL, I like it, great price, so yeah this happened too
Movie Time:
I recommend Silver Linings Playbook (see the movie 1st before you read the book), Like Crazy (good but depressing), Butter (straight up funny, in a Cedar Rapids meets Election sort of way)
