Hateful mood...

One night of the week I'm not required to do anything and I get bullcrap anyway...

Hi XXXXX.
You are my relative and my business partner.
I like you as my relative but i will tell you someting about your weakpoint related to our partnership.
1. i think your aren't interested in your class so your class is getting more and more boring.
2. Whenever I try to tell you someting about your problems. you are usually frown.
That's why I always hesitate to tell you.
3. Sometimes you smell bad.
I guess that's because of your clothes or not frequently washing.
   Our students feel the same.
4. After you read above, if you want to be willing to fix your attitude, I want contract with you.
If not, It's better to stop working together at the end of June.
  Please write back ASAP.

Anyway You are still my kind and helpful relative.

there's this co-worker...

I really hate. The cunt ain't my boss. She's just a bitch. So much so I ended up calling her a bitch 2 weeks after meeting her. I apologized (several months later)...

but she still has this attitude like she is my boss. You ain't bitch...The rub is she is the only other English speaker here and I need her to translate.

I need to go to the post office in the morning as Fridays are "special days" not teaching days...so it's about as painless a time there is to go do this shit...I ask the cunt if she would let the principle know i would be a little late (come around 10am). (and not really since i technically start work at 10 but have to be here at 930am). So she asks in a tone "why do you have to go to the post office?"...

"To mail something..." what do you mean why do i have to go to the post office? to get my rectum examined, why do you think...

you damn twat..

i definitely won't make the 2nd year in this hell...

if ain't one thing, it's another...

  • never getting paid on time any more
  • manager never answers texts directly...a week later when i see him he will say he saw it but never an actual timely response...
  • yr 4 teachers who do nothing to keep any kind of discipline when i'm trying to teach...they just do their thing or sit there or leave...
  • too much douche minutiae in terms of paperwork for teaching Korean 4-7 years old...TONE IT DOWN !!!
  • bring back field trips...i'm tired of staying in every Friday with either a lame zoo day or hiking day or whatever...you people should of done a better job of minding the pocket book way back when...

Weekly Banality Update 7-13-2014

a very technology unfriendly week.

-I had to replace my watch (40000 won)
-my fitbit died after 2 months (time and effort in shipping it to the fitbit place here in korea)
-my mouse on the laptop died and...(10000 won)
-I washed my digital camera in the laundry...(camera was used, cost me 60000 won, who knows what the next one will cost if I have to replace it)

yep...i  washed my digital camera in the laundry...did i mention i'm an adult...

nice...real nice...

so far, the high point of my weekend has been washing my digital camera in with the laundry...here hoping the rice trick dries the sucker out...we'll see in a week

sad thing is i'm not really that mad about it since (a) it's my own damn fault and (b) it gives me an excuse to shop for a new one if it is dead...

Weekly Banality Update 7-6-2014

Work - they owe me something like $300 books from June...get on that...

my watch broke (may be the battery but it also won't wind properly), my fitbit flex won't charge (it's died less than 2 months after purchase 139,000 won)...bought a new watch from a clock store in the neighborhood at 9pm on a sunday after finding out my local Emart (think Target or Walmart type store) doesn't have watches...

went kayaking saturday, met a cute Korean girl...got sun-burnt the hell up...was suppose to go on another trip sunday but skipped it...only out $5 bucks...

I'm totally on board with Almond milk and Soy milk (chocolate)

present obsessions:

music: Akdong Musician

video game: NFS Rivals (PS3)

looking forward to my summer vacation last week of July and AIA Now festival Aug 15th...

it's been a long time....but I keep coming back to you...

ok...lets try this again...

I'm coming back to the blog (after a very long time) as I've posted too much negative and just plain, tedious shit on my facebook lately...that is now for here...

so let's begin...

  1. last 3 or 4 weekends, i've just stayed home....i used the i'm gonna clean excuse....i haven't and i just veg to the point of depression...not bad depression, but just knowing I'm wasting too much "Summah" is a bummer
  2.  I want a pet...probably a cat, as I pretty much believe this is where I'm gonna be. I can't see myself coming home in my mid 40's with no real skills having significant job prospects...but back on the cat...I want a cat and am scared to ask my work to ask the landlady about it as they aren't on the best of terms and i don't want her snooping if she says no thinking I may get one anyway...which I wouldn't as I still have some doubts...mainly due to finances and long term living situations...
  3. am I lonely? I don't know. I am bored a lot. I want to hang out with people but I don't like doing stuff that takes large blocks of time...
  4. I am excited about coming home for christmas. been looking into plane tickets...cost around $1400-$1500 range right now...a manageable amount...
well that concludes this post: here's a cat...

Losing your home is as heartbreaking as it gets...

My mom finally gave up last year and stopped paying the mortgage in order to short sale here home. That means sell the home for less than the value of the mortgage and all proceeds go to the mortgage company(s)

In the beginning, a single company held both mortgages. but when we began the process they sold one and we had to restart the whole process again with company 2. A complete dick move...

but we are now finally at the packing stage...we have to be gone in a hair over two weeks from now...I don't think my stress level has been higher in my life...

I'll go more into it later but I'm just so tired...

Weekly Banality Update 2-10-2013

A quickie post

Celeste and Jesse Forever is a great film. I have a total crush on Rashida Jones...

Unfinished Swan is an amazing bit of art of a game and I only paid $2.50 for it...

I think I'm gonna get sucked into PS+. $50 for a year and you get 3 extra months

I upgraded my ps3 hard drive to 500 GB

A customer at work asked me "what state are we in?"  Denial

nothing funny today...

I woke up around 1030 this morning, had breakfast, and promptly got back in the bed. I stayed there until after it got dark....I watched a little TV and messed around on my iPhone and Nook, but stayed in the bed...

This has to be depression right. I mean I can't be so lazy as to just sit in my room and be content doing nothing. I'm not. It was a gorgeous day outside today. It was 69 F less then a week from February. And I couldn't bring myself to go outside...

I could of gone to the zoo today. I want to go sometime soon but I just can't bring myself to go.

This is what usually happens: I decide to do something...it takes forever to get ready and motivated to go...when I'm literally getting my keys and putting on my shoes, I get this overwhelming feeling of " What's the point? This won't make you happy. give up and go back to bed"

random sidenote: Rolling Stone, your 50 Funniest People Now list is horseshit...you got random people no one's heard of yet no Bill Burr...

if your magazine's plan is to not be relevant, then you are doing a wonderful job...

Also I've decided I want to move to LA sometime in my life to be close to good live stand-up comedy...

Weekly Banality Update 1-23-2013

a couple of days late, oh well...

Saw some movies (all were DVD/Blu-rays, Netflix or Hulu):

  1. Dredd - great sci-fi action flick...wish I'd seen it in the theaters in 3d
  2. Resident Evil: Retribution - not going to win any Oscars but...ehhh, it is what it is
  3. Super Size Me - seen it before, watched it again...made me freak a bit about my health...
  4. Battle Royale - Japanese horror/thriller, think The Hunger Games in a modern setting...

After a frenzied couple of  weeks reading Silver Linings Playbook and The Hunger Games trilogy, I've come to a crawl with The Hobbit. I just don't feel it like the others. The writing style is just draining.

I picked up Red Faction: Guerrilla for Xbox 360. Again Sci-fi 3rd person shooter, right up my alley...

My podcasts of note:

  1. Who Charted
  2. Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast
  3. The CAGcast
  4. Nerd Poker

And I'm broke and I need to get off my ass and get my ebay shit in order...

Weekly Banality Update 1-13-2013

another all things mindless...

1st of all - going to yard sales = fun, having a yard sale = suck...

I finished the Hunger Games trilogy yesterday...I really enjoyed it. I teared up a little at the end of Mockingjay...don't look at me like that...it happened, let's move on...

to what...I don't know...nothing of importance happened this week... hhhmmmm...

let me get back to you...

updated 1/15/2013

had to get my frames replaced after I rolled over on my glasses in bed...got a little yard sale cash then immediately had to spend it #cantwinforlosing

and I spent an afternoon looking at my old tweets, here are a few:

  1. People need to realize I don't answer the phone at 230 AM - 3/15/2009
  2. People need to realize I don't answer the phone at 1130 AM - later 3/15/2009
  3. i will never use the word "chillaxin"...this I proclaim - 3/30/2009
  4. I left a bunch of farts at work. If you found any...keep them...i'll bring more tomorrow -5/1/2011
  5. I'd hate movie theaters less if they still thought 3pm was a matinee - 6/23/2011
I'm a regular Ernest Hemmingway...

Weekly Banality Update 1-6-2013

trying a new thing to keep me writing, nothing heavy just the trivial stuff...

I got a Nook tablet just before Christmas...I discovered I really missed reading. I read The Hunger Games and The Silver Linings Playbook within the first week of having the Nook . Both were great, quick reads, highly recommended. Presently reading The Hobbit and Catching Fire

back on the video game horse:
This holiday I went a little ape-shit with all the Black Friday, Blockbuster 50% off all used games $20 or less, Xbox live holiday and Steam sales

Xbox 360 (disc)
  1. Forza Horizons - you got me hooked I must say...
  2. Xcom: Enemy Unkown - haven't even opened it yet
  3. Binary Domain  - haven't even opened it yet
  4. Madden 12 - upgraded from '09 version
  5. NCAA Football 12  - upgraded from '09 version
  6. Rocksmith - now if I can get off my ass and play it more, it seems really fun...
  7. Need For Speed: Shift - it was $5, not bad, just an impulse buy
Xbox 360 (Xbox Live) - I bought 8000 microsoft points over black friday as well so I had points to spend
  1. Bully: Scholarship Edition - had it on PS2, but sold it on Ebay, now have it again...
  2. Mark of the Ninja - haven't tried it yet
  3. DLC for Trials HD, Trials Evolution, Fruit Ninja Kinect, Oblivion
  4. The Walking Dead: Episodes 2-5 - if 1st episode is any indication, this will be a hell of a ride not for the faint of heart
Playstation 3
  1. God of War Saga - for $15, 5 games, 1 month of PS+, a freaking great deal, the main thing I wanted from Black Friday
  2. Borderlands 2 - haven't even opened it yet
  3. Lollipop Chainsaw - started it...very.....yeah...it's very
  4. Rage  - haven't even opened it yet, got it from Kmart, impulse buy at $10
  5. The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection - haven't tried it yet, but nostalgia from my PS2 days. especially more so that the end is sooner than later for the PS2
  6. Assassins Creed: Revelations - PS3 version comes w/ the first Assassins Creed, and for $10, another deal...
PC - Holiday sale on Steam:
  1. Galactic Civilizations II - scifi strategy, yes please
  2. Dropitz - impulse buy, at $0.99, I'm ok with it
  3. FTL: Faster Than Light - a spaceship sim, again yes please
  4. Fate of the World: Tipping Point - world sim, I like this stuff, now I have to just make time and play all these PC games
  5. From Dust - I played the demo on XBL, I like it, great price, so yeah this happened too
Movie Time:
I recommend Silver Linings Playbook (see the movie 1st before you read the book), Like Crazy (good but depressing), Butter (straight up funny, in a Cedar Rapids meets Election sort of way)

Been away too long I know...

It's been a while. I have started numerous drafts but have never finished any. I just didn't have anything important to say...

I've been home from South Korea for 2 and a half months. I lived there for a year and 6 days...

I will go back. That is a near certainty. My time there was the only time in my adult life where I've been able to take care of myself and my mom financially. I also liked the country, a lot.

And I feel I've disrespected it by not learning the language and not being open to being "the fish out of water" as I could of been. There is a lot more to do and see there. I need another year, at least...and I'm gonna see who I can con into going back with me...

I also want to say I miss my old school. I would of liked another year to be a better teacher for the kids. When I told the students on my last regular day I was leaving I was a bit surprised by their sadness I was leaving. I have become a bit "grumpy old man" and I when one student started crying when I told her, It broke my heart. Children should be nothing but happy...At that moment If my old boss came in and said we will keep you for 20% less money and you have to live with a hobo, I would have done it...

In the time I have been home I've....really done nothing...I've spent money...laid around the house....and basically ignored things I need to deal with...Mom's happy I'm home. I'm happy to see her but she's losing her house and now with a month left before we have to leave nothing has been done to really prepare...How do you go from a house full of a lifetime of stuff to...I don't know?

I've all my paperwork done to get back to Korea but no one's even responded to my emails yet. I've picked up the pace as my desperation grows, sending out multiple resumes daily.

And I think my depression is getting worse...to the point I am investigating therapy options...

that's it...

Sorry I haven't posted in ages...

I need to post a proper blog update but now I need to rant...

The one thing I've been reading this election cycle that pisses me off to no end is when people use "Mr." to refer to President Obama.

My irritation probably comes from studying journalism in college and teaching English in Korea. But showing petty disrespect by calling him "Mr." just makes you look small.

It's OK to hate his guts. But he is the President Of The United States. You don't like it. Do something about it on Tuesday.

Not a surprise but still packs a punch...

I just found out I'm not getting renewed...

maybe it's for the best, but I just started feeling right and getting "comfortable"...

I hate starting over...

Sunday, July 22, 2012
